Positive Behaviour & Learning

Our positive behaviour strategy is to reward children who are consistently well behaved.  We do this thought our "right choice" programme and our school golden rules.

Rewards for good behaviour include our weekly MVP's (Most Valuable Pupil Award), classroom and playground vouchers, class and and assembly credits, Principal Awards and a class and school 'Golden Time' during every term.

Clifton School's expectation is that no child has the right to interrupt the learning of others by displaying inappropriate behaviour.

Should a student to decide to not follow the golden rules, the consequences for this behaviour includes benching, hot seat timeouts and lunchtime detentions.

ICT

Clifton School is completely networked with each classroom having one 'networked' computer.  We have mobile computer pod of Apple iBooks with some amazing teaching and learning taking place.

All teaching staff have Apple iBooks, we have several digital cameras, a data show projector and digital video camera.  Often our ICT resources are used in Class Presentation Assemblies and is a great way to demonstrate what our children have been learning in their rooms.

All staff and students have signed an Internet Safety Agreement to ensure safety on the net at all times.

School Uniform

The implementation of our compulsory uniform has had a very positive impact on our school and students.

The standard of dress reflects their pride and we continue to receive positive comments from families and the community.

Weekly Newsletter

We have a very informative newsletter which goes home to families every Tuesday.

Our newsletters are a great way to keep in touch with our families and to inform our school community of recent and up coming events and activities.
